The challenge: time-consuming paper exams and scattered learners
TSiC is a technical training and advisory center offering hands-on education for electrical engineering and data communication. Trainees don’t just learn theory — they practice building circuits, wiring smart homes, and troubleshooting real-world systems.
But when it came to assessments, the center was stuck in the past. “We had to create and print exams manually,” said trainer Jan Koop. “It was a huge time drain, and it didn’t scale, especially when students needed to retake a test from 200 km away.”
The pandemic made things even more complex. With remote learning rising, they needed a better way to manage exams that could work both online and offline, and still feel secure.
The solution: shuffle, time-limit, automate
The system’s ability to randomize questions, set per-question time limits, and automatically generate new versions solved key problems
Jan Koop started using Easy LMS’ exam builder in 2020, and it quickly became an essential part of their blended learning approach. The system’s ability to randomize questions, set per-question time limits, and automatically generate new versions solved key problems.
“It’s easy to use. You add your questions, set the difficulty level, and the system does the rest. Every student gets a different version, and with time limits per question, Googling answers becomes nearly impossible.”
Today, TSIC uses Easy LMS to assess knowledge before, during, and after training. Sometimes it’s a prerequisite test to determine whether someone is ready for a course. Other times, it’s a formal final assessment — or even a retest done entirely online.
Training has changed. Learners expect faster, smarter tools — and so do trainers. Easy LMS helps us keep up
Why they stayed: built for trainers, not just tech teams
TSIC reviewed several other tools, including Fronter and commercial LMS platforms. But most were overly complex or priced for enterprise budgets.
“Some systems had every feature imaginable — and cost ten times more. Others were clunky or locked into Windows-only environments. Easy LMS had exactly what we needed: a powerful, no-fuss tool designed with trainers in mind.”
The biggest win? Usability. “You can create questions, add images, classify levels — all in one flow. Other tools force you to jump between tabs and modules. With Easy LMS, I can work faster and smarter.”
The results: reliability, happier customers, and time saved
Since adopting Easy LMS, TSIC has:
✅ Eliminated paper-based exams.
✅ Enabled remote assessments with security.
✅ Saved hours each week in test creation and correction.
✅ Improved training quality with data-driven feedback.
✅ Served over 800 learners with some exams.
They also praise the system’s reporting features. “I can see which questions are too hard or poorly written. If 80% fail question 19, I know instantly that either it’s confusing, or it’s a knowledge gap I need to address in class.”
Looking ahead: getting ready for the next generation of learners
Jan Koop is passionate about the future of training and sees AI and interactive tools reshaping the classroom. “Today’s students don’t read long paragraphs. They want visuals, voice, quizzes, and movement — more TikTok than textbook.”
He’s already using AI to generate training images and outlines, and he’s eager to help shape the next version of Easy LMS’ course builder. “The exam side is fantastic. But I’d love to help improve the course experience — make it more interactive, more intuitive, and more modular.”
